Let’s get to know each other…
Whether you’re in the field of Biomedical Engineering, Clinical Engineering, or Health Technology Management, the core objective remains unchanged: safeguarding the clinical equipment within your healthcare organization, ensuring its safety, and maintaining its availability for patients in the clinical setting. Over the course of our 20+ years of experience, we have witnessed remarkable transformations in the scope and implications of this responsibility.
But who are you really?
Starting a career supporting medical imaging technology as it was making a significant move towards connectivity and digitization was foundational to the path that has brought us here, to the origin of CyForMed. As medical imaging went digital and connected, it opened up a whole new world of possibilities. Suddenly, we could easily share and store medical images, making collaboration and data management a breeze. This transformation was soon being embraced by all areas within the healthcare sector.
Digitization and image acquisition by PC’s and the needed network connectivity meant that a firm grasp of some aspects traditionally in the realm of Information Technology (IT) departments were now essential for the scope of the of the job. Fast forward another 10 years and the demand for the skillset of IT-support, network troubleshooting, and understanding the clinical environment have only grown.
Along with the benefits; data acquisition, processing, and storage came some challenges, like keeping the networks secure, maintaining clinical availability, and protecting patient privacy. Cybersecurity for medical devices is now an increasingly important part of the role and mandate that Biomedical Engineering departments find themselves tasked with.
